Gary Spiers
Gary Spiers was born around 1943 in New Zealand, of Maori heritage. He trained in Australia, where he worked the doors of Melbourne's clubs, and in Japan, before his friend Terry O'Neill found him door work in Liverpool. There he developed what he called Applied Karate, and by the mid-1980s his security firm covered venues in Liverpool, Southport, Blackpool and Wales.
His old friend Steve Morris said it would take an axe to stop him. He has since died. These are the films about him, and the ones where he turns up in someone else's story.
